fall mini retreat

A one day retreat at my home in Westfield, NJ where you can give yourself the undivided attention to create a clear action plan for making permanent changes around food, eating and body image.

Saturday, October 21
10am-5pm, Westfield NJ

Our day together will be spent sharing, learning and reflecting around your relationship with food, history with dieting and beliefs and opinions about your body. You will go home feeling more grounded, connected to your values and with clear direction on what specific skills you plan to focus on around your relationship to food and your body.

“Something shifted when I left the retreat at the end of the day.

What shifted was the difference between learning about the work and actually practicing and integrating it. Taking all the tools I had gained in the retreat and actually putting them into action.

While I didn't know the other women at the retreat, by the time we all hugged goodbye, we had shared more than I believed we would share with our own friends and family. Jordana provided a safe space to speak our truths about our bodies, our lives.

My core value was courage. Having the courage to do the work and accept it all. And that is exactly what I am doing now.

Loved being a part of this retreat and look forward to the Fall Retreat because there's so much more to learn. To do. To feel.” — Josie D.

Here’s how we’ll spend our time together:

  • Two hour values workshop to identify your core personal values that will guide your choices around eating, body image, exercise and self care so you can make sustainable, long term changes that reflect who you are, rather than defaulting to outside influences, pressures and expectations

  • Two hour body image intensive workshop including guided journaling and skill based worksheets to help you identify body image triggers so you can begin learning skills to help diffuse negative body image thoughts and behaviors and feel more comfortable and confident in your own skin

  • Yoga class/mini somatic session to learn body and breath based techniques so you can pause, check in and get more familiar and comfortable with identifying the sensations of hunger, fullness and cravings

  • Connecting, sharing, talking, laughing…we will have a structured schedule but this day is about the magic of like minded women coming together to prioritize yourselves and each other. All of our sessions together will be completely interactive. I hope you’ll learn as much from each other as you do from me.

“I feel like even though there’s so much more I want to revisit and keep learning, two of the tools have really been helping me so much!

The 3 rules when getting dressed and using a factual statement whenever I think something about a body part I don’t like.

I have really been able to eliminate so much stress and emotion and wasted time because of those tools.”

— Taylor D.

“Such a great day. Honored to be a part of it. You put so much effort into it and everything was amazing. Your home is so warm and inviting and was the perfect setting”

— Diane S.

Workshop details

The workshops are designed to be completely interactive and work as springboard for reflection and dialogue. You’ll get a workbook when you arrive that includes all of the content we’ll be covering as well as worksheets to help you develop and practice your skills that we will use as we go. These will not be presentations of slides! The workshops will be a blend of teaching, learning, conversations, sharing and practicing.

Workshop # 1: Values Inventory

Values guide the way you want to show up in the world. The way you want to treat yourself and others. What behaviors and beliefs are most important to you.

Values aren’t goals, they’re actions.

When you use your values as the foundation for making changes around what, why and how you eat, you will inherently be doing what is best for you.

It’s when we allow external pressures and expectations to guide our choices instead of our values when we run into problems.

Because those external pressures force us to do things in direct opposition to our values—and that is why every diet you’ve ever done has sucked and/or not gotten you permanent results.

Here’s what we’ll be focusing on during the values workshop:

  • Establishing a clear definition of what values are

  • Choosing your 3 core values

  • Learning how to use those values to make choices around eating and body image and identify where there have been disconnects in the past

  • Making a special keepsake with one of your values

Workshop #2: Body Image Intensive

On Saturday afternoon we’re going to take the values work from the morning and learn how to apply it towards the way we perceive our bodies and talk to ourselves.

We have always been taught that the answer to being unhappy with your body is to simply lose weight; and yet that never has and never will work because you can’t change your body image by changing how you look. You change it by learning skills that help you respond to your negative emotions and thoughts about your body in a way that is aligned with your values. And that’s exactly what we will be learning and practicing at this workshop.

  • Identify your body image triggers

  • Self care inventory

  • Opinions to facts worksheet

  • Somatic tools

  • Negative talk reframe

Closing Circle

At the end of the day everyone will fill out an action plan worksheet with specific steps by category (food/exercise/body image/self care), that align with your values so you have a clear blueprint to guide you back at home.

About Jordana

I don’t look like your typical nutrition and body image coach. I’m a size 12 with a soft belly that rolls over my pants. And I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been.

My work as a coach is to help women like you finally build the self trust to eat and exercise in a way that feels amazing instead of white knuckling through the latest diet and working out to burn off last night’s pizza.

Because I get it. I lived more than 20 years of my life trapped by food, starting a new diet every other week and endlessly chasing a body I thought was the key to happiness.

I’m here to help you break up with dieting forever and live at ease in your own skin.
